I received yesterday 2.prize in the Danish Press Photo of The Year 2012 in the category Sport Reportage for my story about turkish wrestling. A story I did last summer and it was published in Ud og Se in december.

This summer I went to Turkey to do a story about turkish oil wrestling. The story have just been published in Ud & Se, a danish magazine. Images will soon be uploaded.
In november and december I traveled to Egypt and Tunesia to do two stories. In Egypt I did a story about metal workers and in Tunesia I did a story about butchers. Both stories will be a part of and exhibition and a book this spring. More info will follow.
I will travel back to egypt this month to do a story about a teacher. This story will also be a part of the exhibition.

I have received honorable mention in International Photography Award 2011 for my story about the immigrants in Calais/France :-)

I have just returned from Roskilde Festival where I again this year was a part of the Rockphoto team. This is some of my images from the festival. Moments from the camping area and from the stages.
I have been choosen to be the danish part of the exhibition and will participate in ACTIVE WITNESS.
To celebrate the European Year of Volunteering, this exhibition, held at Europe House in Smith Square, brings together 26 works by photographers representing 26 participating countries, whose work either engages directly with the voluntary sector, or with closely related social issues. The photographers participating in the exhibition come from a range of backgrounds, including photojournalism, fine art and documentary practice, and the selected works cover subjects ranging from homelessness, to displaced populations, social care, rehabilitation and disaster relief.
Curated for EUNIC by Simon Baker (curator of photography and international art, Tate), and Ines de Bordas, with support from the cultural attaches of the 26 participating countries.

Yesterday I received a 1. prize in the Danish Press Photo of The Year 2010/2011 in the category Reportage Abroad with my story from Calais/France. A story about migrants and their daily life.
I'm proud to tell that I have received a third place in POYI - Picture of The Year International in Photographer of The Year - Freelance/Agency category.
I receive the prize for work done in 2010. I had more than 40 images in my portfolio that was judged. Most of the work are related to my project about illegal immigration.

I'll be in Calais for the next week to continue my ongoing project about illegal immigration in Europe. The winter is coming and life is still very difficult for the migrants.

My kushti story has been selected for the 2010 International Photography Awards Best of Show. The Best of Show exhibits a collection from amongst the nearly 350 winning submissions of this year’s competition. The 2010 IPA Best of Show will debut at Splashlight Studios Soho, New York on Saturday, October 23, 2010.
I was monday morning in national television to talk about my project, story and award from Calais. Came back sunday night from Visa pour l'image in Perpignan where I had received my prize and where my reportage from Calais is exhibited, so I had to get up early to be in the studio. Looked a little bit tired :o)

I have received honorable mention for my story about the earthquake in Italy.
I have received a 1. prize in International Photography Awards 2010 in the category Sports Pro for my story about kushti in India. I was in India last year two times to do this story and another one. The kushti story is shot in Varanasi.

Carsten Snejbjerg have won the Grand Prix CARE du Reportage Humanitaire 2010 for the first part of his ongoing project about illegal immigrants in Europe. The project will be exhibited in Perpignan during Visa pour l'Image, the premier International Festival of Photojournalism.

Carsten have been shooting portraits of the new mayors and all the members of the local parlament in Copenhagen.

Carsten will be teaching students on 7. semester, together with friend and colleague Thomas Nielsen at the Danish school of journalism this autumn. We will visit the school a couple of times for coaching the students, give feedback and finally in january examine the class. They better be nice :o)
Carsten has tested the new Leica M9 today. Especially on high iso. And will compare to canon 5D MK II.
Klavs will be in Mexico for the next week shooting for a client.
Carsten got the pleasure to photograph Barack Obama during his visit in Copenhagen.

On wednesday th 30 of september Carsten will show pictures and talk about his project for students at the Danish School of journalism.
